Weekly Social Skills Groups for Teens and Young Adults
Advanced Pragmatics Social Skills groups are designed for teens and young adults with high functioning autism and other social challenges, who want to further develop their social skills, independence, and confidence. The teen group will focus on building relationships, conversational skills, self-advocacy, executive functioning, and non-verbal communication while the young adult group will focus more on life after high school and new social challenges they may come across including finding employment, working with co-workers, and independent living. Taught by a licensed and PEERS® certified speech language pathologist, clients will receive expert social skills training. This fall, Advanced Pragmatics is proud to implement the PEERS® program, the only evidence based social skills curriculum for this age group. Due to the pandemic and to ensure the safety of all participants, the course will be offered via Zoom.
PEERS® Virtual Social Skills Groups for Teens and Young Adults
The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is an evidence based social skills curriculum to help motivated teens and young adults learn how to make and keep friends. Participants are taught social skills through guided lessons and role-play demonstrations, and practice the skills they learned during online socialization activities.
